Full house

This past Monday Jonathan Yagel went back home, for just a week, he'll be back; and today we gain three more in his place, Sarah, Will, and Stephen.
Will and Stephen only going to be here for a week, by the time Jonathan came back they will be gone, Sarah, our daughter, will be here for three weeks.

They Yagel brother's are working a lots at the school, doing everything from painting to carpeting work. Also this week, they started teach English at the slum near the school. They are going to do that every Tuesday and Thursday, both brothers are excited to do this and so is Roberto.

Will and Stephen jump the wagon right away, they barely got here and they already at work at the school, they are priming the bathrooms today and if everything works out, they are going to the slum today and try to teach as well.

Sarah, in the other hand, is resting, since she will have more time with us here, she can do that. :)

It's been awhile

Well..... the last time that I post something was back in March when the UVA team was here.

Since then Roberto and I were back to the beautiful USA for a couple a weeks. Upon our return, we host the Women's Ministry from WEAG ( May 25-31) , while they were here, they did a three days women's conferences, ministry at Wednesday night at small church, and also ministry to a poor community
near the church, we also host Cherish and Laura from WEAG for three weeks, they got here two days before the WM, unfortunately Cherish got sick while here, she got the H1N1, she have to stay in the hospital for 12 days, so unfortunately for most of her time here she was in the hospital, her mom came to Brazil and was here with her the whole time, in the mean time Laura spent her time with the WM team and with the youth from Walter's church( Comunidade Evangelica de Sao Bernado), and the last week they where here they did same work at the school, and now we have Jonathan and Peter Yagel, they will be with us for a couple of months.

As you can see it has been an adventures few weeks.

A couple of updates....

*Our furniture haven't got here yet :(
*We have Internet at the school :)

Carnaval

CARNAVAl: Feast of the flesh.

For those of you that doesn't know what Carnaval means.
Carnaval is a five day celebration, where people party the whole time.
It usually started on a Friday before Ash Wednesday, and it doesn't stop until Fat Tuesday, the worse of all five days, is where people can go out and do all kind of things and be forgiven on Ash Wednesday, that´s what the Catholics teach here.

In certain parts of Brazil the celebration star a month in advanced.

With that said, all the business in the country basically is close, from stores to banks, for you to have an idea, on Tuesday Roberto and I couldn't find any store open to buy some groceries, except for a few big ones, like WalMart, of course.

So, finally today things are getting back to normal.

Something familiar

Finally this past weekend Roberto and I went to a place I recognized.
So far every place that I been I have no idea where I was, except for the school.
This past Friday Roberto ask me to go with him to deliver something for one of his client, that's where we finally came to a place that I said "OMG I know where I'm" it was a good feeling to know that I still remember places, because so far, everywhere we been, he ask me "do you remember this place" and my answer was always no.

So on Saturday we decided to go to my old neighborhood and drive around, for the first time i was able to tell him where to turn, it was a good feeling.

Totally different culture

I wasn't going to talk about this, but i must.

I kind knew this but i didn't thing was this bad.
For some reason here every time you go out, i mean out of your house, you change your clothes.
I'm not kidding, the dress up, is not like they in sweat pants at home and they need to change to go to the mall, no if the go to the bakery down the street they change, if the came home the change if the go out again they change again, i mean... not like, let put same jeans on, no is more like, let me put my best jean, shoes, shirt, makeup, they don't to get out of the house with out dressing out, like they are going out of town, not down the street.

I don't know about you, but i found this very unnecessary, so therefore thy probably thing I'm the biggest sloppy in the World, we will see how i feel about this in six months, i may be one of than.

House

I know some of you are wonder when we are moving to our house.
The house still in process of painting, every time we ask or go there, they say "oh, by Friday or this weekend it will be ready", that's what they told us again today, so don't get your hope up, is driving Roberto and i crazy.

Sick

I finally got sick. Between been over tired, the pollution, and the mold, my body finally said enough.
Today is the first day that I'm not sneezing my head off since Thursday, my sinus was awful.
But that didn't held me back this past weekend, Nata came over and pick us up and toke us to this town call Campos de Jordao, we left at 9:00 in the morning didn't came back home until 9:00 at night, i felt awful all day long. Sunday we wake up early and head up to see Walter's brother Tom, he lives in the middle of no where, literally, even thought is only an hour and a half from my sister-in-law, we have ever intentional to go to church that day but we didn't live their house until eight at night, that was my worse day, so finally on Monday i got some drugs.

Uncertainties

In a sense it feels just like 23 years ago, when Roberto, Isaac(6 months old) and I, pack our bags and move our whole lifes to the USA.
We came to the States with this uncertainty of what live would hold for us, and now i find myself with the same uncertainties.

I find myself wonder, what i'm going to do all day long, what church we are going to attent, we will ever find a church like WEAG, will i find any good friends like i have back home, what's my role at the school.

The only thing that i knew then, is that GOD is faithful and that He will continue to be faithfull, He order our steps then and He is ordeing our steps now, and that's a great thing to hold on to.

Tati

Even thougt i didn't mention her in my last entry, only because she wasn't there that week, she is one of my biggest supporter and my rock.

So here TATI this is for you ,I LOVE YOU

Goodbye

In just few days me and Roberto will be boarding in a plane to go back to Brazil.
The weather today totally reflects on how i fell. Cold, sad, drippy.
I really didn't think saying goodbye would be that hard. Was i wrong.
SOH board gave us a goodbye open house at our church, where our friends had a chance to came and say goodbye.
I cry more than i plan for it. I don't know why i just did.

So, with that behind us, it just made me realize that today is the begining of a week long of finishing up packing and cleaning, and more goodbyes and tears.

Let's just hope we can make it without end up in a nut house.

I love you all, and thanks for coming
